GOAT FARMING FOR RURAL LIVELIHOOD: BREEDS, HOUSING, AND HEALTHCARE
Abstract
Goat farming for rural Indian marginal and landless farmers especially is becoming more and more important for animal revenue. This book chapter addresses the several aspects of goat farming with particular attention to the choice of indigenous and crossbred goat breeds, the development of housing systems fit for the agro-climatic conditions of India, and the application of comprehensive healthcare strategies to raise production. Especially stressed is the need for goat farming in maintaining rural life, helping women, and so safeguarding rural economy as well as in guaranteeing financial and nutritional stability. The conference seeks to let legislators, scholars, and experts make wise judgments supported by reasonable recommendations from national organizations and current research results.
